Two different provider steps
Identity verification and bank connection are separate requirements with different purposes. Stripe Identity supports the required identity check. Plaid provides the business bank connection experience when that later stage is requested.
Neither provider step should be treated as a substitute for the business application, requested documents, agreements, or package confirmation.
Why the steps stay separated
Separating provider steps reduces ambiguity about what is being requested and why. Identity verification occurs before later document, consent, package review, and bank connection requirements. The sequence helps each completed action support the next controlled stage.
A completed provider experience does not complete the full application automatically. Return to Motenza to review the updated requirement, any remaining action, and the client-facing status.
Stripe Identity verification
When identity verification is required, Motenza opens the authorized Stripe Identity workflow. Identity images and verification evidence are handled within the provider workflow. Motenza receives the verification status and limited provider references needed to operate and audit the application journey.
A verification result supports the identity requirement; it is not a funding decision or approval claim.
Plaid bank connection
Plaid appears only when the bank connection stage is requested and earlier dependencies are complete. Plaid provides the connection experience, and Motenza does not receive your online banking password.
Information returned through the authorized connection is used for the applicable business funding and underwriting workflow. Availability, review, and provider requirements can vary by application.
If a provider step does not return
A closed browser window, interrupted connection, expired session, or unsupported device setting can prevent the provider experience from returning as expected. Reopen the active requirement in Motenza before beginning a second attempt so you are using the current authorized session.
If the status does not update, contact Motenza App Support with the name of the step, the approximate time of the attempt, and a description of the screen. Do not include bank credentials, one-time codes, full government identifiers, or identity images.
How to stay in the official flow
Begin provider steps only from the active requirement shown in Motenza. Return to the app after completing the provider experience so you can confirm the client-facing status and next action.
- Do not share provider passwords or one-time codes with support.
- Do not open identity or bank links forwarded by an unknown sender.
- Use the Motenza support page when a required provider step does not open or return correctly.
- Review the App Privacy Notice for additional information-handling details.
