BUSINESS FUNDING APPLICATION GUIDE

A clearer way to prepare, submit, and move forward.

A practical guide to the Motenza business funding application—from the first business details through provider-ready review.

01

Before you begin

A business funding application should begin with a clear view of the business, the requested use of funds, and the people authorized to act for the company. Motenza presents the applicable questions inside one guided workflow rather than asking you to reconstruct the process across disconnected messages.

Requirements can vary by opportunity, product, provider, and review. Follow the requests displayed for your application instead of assuming every business must provide the same information.

  • Use current, accurate business and contact information.
  • Describe the business purpose for the requested capital clearly.
  • Keep authorized owners or representatives available for required verification.
  • Review each request before uploading or confirming information.
02

Business and funding details commonly reviewed

A commercial funding review starts with facts that identify the business and explain the requested transaction. Motenza may ask for the legal business name, any DBA or trade name, entity type, formation details, business contact information, industry, and current operating profile.

Funding questions may cover the requested amount, intended use of funds, desired timeframe, annual or average monthly revenue, and existing business financing. The information should describe the real business purpose and current position without estimating facts you cannot support.

  • Legal business name, entity type, formation state, and formation date
  • Business address, phone, email, website, and industry
  • Requested amount, use of funds, and desired funding timeframe
  • Revenue information and details about existing business financing
03

Ownership and authorized representative details

The application may request information about an owner or representative authorized to act for the business. This can include the person's name, title, ownership percentage, contact information, and address.

Identity verification, supporting documents, and consents remain separate controlled steps. Do not place full Social Security numbers, full EINs, bank credentials, identity images, or provider payloads into an unrelated application field or support email.

04

The six-stage journey

The Motenza journey follows a controlled sequence: Funding Application, Stripe Identity, Required Documents, Signatures & Consents, Package Review, and Plaid Bank Connection. Later stages do not replace or bypass earlier requirements.

The app shows what is complete, what needs attention, and what is not required yet. A submitted item may still be under review; submission and completion are intentionally presented as different states.

05

What review may involve

Motenza may request additional information when a submitted item is incomplete, unclear, expired, or does not satisfy the applicable requirement. When that happens, the same requirement reopens with its history preserved so you can respond in context.

A provider-ready package is an operational milestone, not an approval promise. Eligibility, terms, pricing, timing, and capital availability remain subject to applicable review and the provider identified in the final financing agreement.

06

After you submit

A submitted application becomes read-only unless Motenza assigns a correction or requests more information. If a correction is needed, respond to the specific reopened section instead of starting a second application.

During review, the app can distinguish an action required from saved progress, a submitted item, a completed requirement, or a step that is not yet needed. Use the client-facing status as the source for what you should do next.

07

What submission means

Submitting an application, document, consent, or package confirms that the requested step was sent for the applicable workflow. It does not guarantee approval, an offer, specific terms, or funding.

Use the status shown in Motenza as the source for the current client-facing requirement. For help with an active application, contact Motenza App Support through the official support page.
